Roundup victims have a reason to celebrate as we enter the holiday season. Over the span of just two weeks, juries have awarded more than half a billion dollars in damages to Roundup cancer victims.

On October 31, a jury in California sided with Roundup cancer victim Mike Dennis, who used the chemical on his lawns and gardens for over three decades. He was awarded a staggering $332 million–$7 million in compensatory damages and $325 million in punitive damages.
Philadelphia’s Roundup trial ended with a resounding verdict of $175 million against Bayer on October 27. It includes $25 million in compensatory damages and $150 million in punitive damages. Retired restaurant owner Ernest Caranci used Roundup for upwards of 20 years, believing there was no danger in exposure. Eventually, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
This was the first Roundup case to go to trial in Philadelphia, but it won’t be the last. Another case will be heard in November.
On October 20, a St. Louis jury awarded non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patient John Durnell $1.25 million. It found Bayer didn’t properly warn consumers about the potential risks of roundup weed killer exposure, particularly its active ingredient glyphosate.
